Functions

Platform::Clock::Now

Returns the time in units of 100 ns since an arbitrary start.

Syntax

inline std::int64_t Now() noexcept;

Return value

Type: std::int64_t

A monotonic reading: later calls never return less.

Remarks

The same unit as Duration, so Now() + duration.hundredNanoseconds is a deadline to compare later readings with. The start is arbitrary; only differences mean anything.

Platform::Thread::YieldThread

Lets another thread run, if one is ready.

Syntax

inline void YieldThread() noexcept;

Remarks

Gives up the rest of the calling thread's time slice and returns at once if no other thread is ready (SwitchToThread on Windows, sched_yield elsewhere). Not named Yield: that is a Windows macro.
